Norway than on the Continent indicates a lower price in Norway than on
the next 20 years. the Continent. The Nordics will have a
surplus of power, and will be a big net
exporter in a year with normal inflow.
An increase in renewables and an increase in
interconnector capacity, affects the power prices
in the Nordics in opposite directions. In analysis
from Econ Pöyry, it is found that the net effect of
these trends is a decrease in the Nordic power
price – all other things being equal. On the
Continent, an increase in fuel prices and
CO2-prices will result in an increase in the
power prices.

BENEFITS
Reduce your environmental imprint by
reducing your need for diesel-based back up.
Short transmissions paths give the lowest
losses in the grid between producer and
consumer. It frees capacity in the existing net.
This in turn enables reduced losses in the net
(losses are reduced when there is less strain
on the net). Excess capacity in the grid is
beneficial because it allows new power plants
access to the grid.
