Bernoulli's principle states that an increase in the speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with a decrease in pressure. Daniel Bernoulli first proposed this principle in 1738 while investigating fluid dynamics and dynamics of gases. Bernoulli's principle explains various phenomena in fluid dynamics such as how aircraft wings generate lift and how venturi meters can be used to measure fluid flow rate. It is widely used in various engineering applications involving fluid flow.
