HOW IT WORKS
Parents first download, and print one of the "Little Mu'min" templates from our gallery. Each mu'min comes with their own prayer rug, hasanat journal, Qur'an, and minature kabba. Each child will color and cut out their chosen character, and fold each so they can fit into a standard sized envelope.
You can print out as many or as little as you like, each one is made to be foldable so they can travel to visit friends and family in the mail. Some parents may choose to send two mu'mins to some friends in California and another two to some relatives overseas. They can travel as often and as far as you would like.
ARRANGING EXCHANGES
The best way to arrange exchanges is through registering a free account at our Little Mu'min Group through http://islamichomeschool.edu20.org/. When you post on our discussion board, please add a hyphen after your name followed by your title, for example Umm Matthew - Home Schooler. This is so we can tell you apart from spammers who use automated tools to create fake accounts so they can post spam. This suffix will prevent your name from being removed as a suspected spammer.
SENDING
Put the senders name and return address on the back of each Little Mu'min, just in case one gets lost, they can be returned back to you.
Select a contact from our discussion board and make contact them directly to see how many they need and to get their mailing address.
RECIEVING
Each Little Mu'min is like a guest in your home. Be sure to take them on outings, have children put them next to the prayer mats while they pray, children can even pretend to teach the Little Mu'min various Surahs they have memorized.
Have each child write down the good deeds they have done in the hasanat journal, along with places visited, and their favorite surahs. If they can, write down the surah to help the Little Mu'min become a "hafiz". Be sure to take photographs and share these in the blog section of our group. Children can write letters back to the Little Mu'mins' family or send back different souviners and/or information from the your local area, state or country.
Once the visit is over, be sure to return the Little Mu'min back to the return address located on the back of the Little Mu'min.
BLOGS
Our group has a blog section so families can share their experiences, photographs, ideas, and lessons learned from the project.

Forgiveness Forgiveness
Seeking forgiveness for our sins and shortcomings is
something we should strive for constantly throughout
the year, but there is a special day we should all take
note of.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
"There is no day when God sets free more servants from
Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises
them to the angels, saying: What do these
want?" [Muslim]
Tawbah (repentance) means to descend back to Allah,
abandon what He hates in public and in secret, regret
the past, leave the disobedient act, resolve not to do it
again, and keep firm on the Straight Path.
