The Company

Fizzy drink Inc. was originally established in the late 1980’s. It almost went out of business in 1997
when other brands like Coca Cola and Fanta became well known and took over the drink market
completely with their immense popularity growing even today. Fizzy drink Inc. has decided to make
a reintroduction by bringing out a new energy drink to the market to face the competition. They
believe it could be extremely successful with the right start-up and advertising which is what I aim to
achieve by early 2013.

Myself as a Digital Producer

I have previously done research into digital video technology so I have a good idea of how things
work in the media industry such as the internet and the history of film trailers. With this information
it allows me to have a good understanding of what I am doing and it also gives me the opportunity
to use the information I have learnt in the upcoming tasks for Fizzy drink Inc. I am currently working
on another task which is designing the digital graphics for a website and I am designing the initial
sketches for testing purposes at the moment. Along with this I have also done previous work on
pixels and how they work in images. Having this knowledge goes well with designing the digital
graphics as I know about optimisation and the process of making images as suitable and efficient as
possible before they are put onto the internet.

Target Audience

The target audience will be equal to the majority of drink companies out there today which is
teenagers and people in their twenties. So an approximation would be 13-29. The main reason for
this age group is because these are the kinds of people who do a lot of sport and exercise (compared
to older people). Therefore aiming at this group would be ideal as drinks and in particular energy
drinks are very popular for people going to the gym or going for a jog as they boost the metabolism
levels giving them increased energy for a period of time fulfilling the exercise they are getting. The
target audience isn’t necessarily fitness / exercising people I am just mentioning this as fitness and
healthy living is a huge part of people’s lives today and therefore creating an energy drink aiming at
teenagers and people in their twenties who tend to go to the gym and work out would be a suitable
option.

Budgets

The maximum budget for the project in total is £4000. This money is going to be used to complete
the advertisement and the other digital productions involved. Another job I am in charge of is
completing the company’s spreadsheet. This spreadsheet will have all of the budgeting and
expenditures for the project purely for calculation of the amount of money that will be spent and
the prediction of how much Fizzy drink Inc. will get back in after certain time periods.

Format

The theme of the entire drink project is a serious style and tone. It is aimed at making the viewer
want to purchase and enjoy the new drink Fizzy drink Inc. has returned with. As the company has
been almost a ghost for 15 years I do not feel that a humorous advert will be suitable as it is made to
reintroduce a once exceptionally popular establishment back into the market against today’s
competitors. The platform for the project will be the internet. As mentioned previously an
advertisement will be created and it will be roughly 30-60 seconds long. Once it is completed it will
be put onto the internet for people to see. The main purpose behind using the internet for the
advert is purely because of the sheer amount of people on it today. Everybody in some way or
another has access to the internet whether it is by your own computer or by a relative/friend.
Therefore the viewer basis will be much more reliable on the web. The actual way that the advert
will be used is that it will be put onto streaming websites and social networking websites so that
when people are just browsing through Facebook or YouTube the advertisement will appear to the
side or above and people can view it whilst they are looking at whatever they were previously.

Deadlines

As for deadlines I am making it an important task for myself to stick to them and make sure
everything gets done on time. I have multiple tasks to complete before the advert is complete and
put onto the web and therefore I must stay on track and successfully complete them in order to
meet the deadlines and not fall behind in terms of time.

Planning

Maintaining the high standards I have set myself is vital for this project. I need to make sure that
everything I do is appropriate and suitable for the client and that it meets the need for the client to
assure them that the advertisement and all the other pieces of work will be successful. Upon
completion of work like the storyboard or the budget and expenditure spreadsheet I need to make
them available to the client for viewing so that they can see the progress of my work and how well I
am working in terms of deadlines.
