1. Season of Advent The Advent Season is celebrated during the four weeks before Christmas. “Advent” is from a Latin word meaning “coming” or “arrival”.

2. During Advent we celebrate the coming or arrival of Jesus Christ. The light from the Advent candles, which grows brighter each Sunday, reminds us Jesus is the light of the world . “ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
