3. THERE ARE, THERE IS
 The expressions "there is" and "there are"
are used for indicating that an object or a
person are in a specified site.
 En español ambas significan “HAY”

4. EXAMPLE:
 There is a book on the table.
 There are two cups of coffee on the table.

5. Utilizamos there is cuando el sujeto es:
 Un sustantivo contable singular:
There is an apple on the table.

6.  Un sustantivo incontable:
There is some tea in the glass.

7. Utilizamos there are cuando el sujeto es:
 Un sustantivo plural:
There are two electric guitars on the sofa.

8.  La forma negativa de las expresiones
existenciales there is / there are se construye con la
partícula negativa not:
There isn’t any apple on the table.

9. There aren’t two electric guitars on the sofa.

10.  La forma interrogativa se construye mediante una
inversión entre el verbo to be y el sujeto there:
Is there an apple in the kitchen?
