2. Generally people buy music magazines for the
content inside of the magazine. If you are interested
by Indie music and the latest music you would not
buy a Heavy metal magazine. Therefore the
content of my magazine must relate to the genre
and style of my magazine. My magazine will feature
an interview with a new upcoming artist. This will be
my unique selling point as people will want to be
the first to listen and hear about this new talent who
will take the music world by storm. All this is
discussed in my ‘content’ section but my magazine
will succeed because it contains a USP.
3. NME succeeds as it has a large audience
base, due to it’s popularity for over 20 years.
My magazine features new upcoming artist
whereas NME just seems to focus on
present artists. My USP seems to focus on
new upcoming artists meaning it will gain a
new and wider audience base as well as
conforming to the same content as NME
such as the new artists and big bands.
4. NME- This is the most popular Indie and probably
the most successful magazine of the last few
decade. It focuses predominantly on big bands
who have produced music that people have heard
of. People buy this magazine to focus on the latest
goings on in Indie music.
Q- Similarly to NME, Q focuses on big bands
instead of little, upcoming bands. It has lived in the
shadow of NME ever since it’s release. It recent
times it has changed slightly and edged towards
the Rock side of Indie. It doesn’t focus on Soft
Rock anymore.
