3. 2. The Yangtse River China’s longest river:the mighty Yangtse starts at 6300km journey to the East China Sea. The Chinese people use the water to grow rice.

4. 3. The Forbidden City The Forbidden City is also known as the Imperial Palace. It is in Beijing. Between 1406-1420 some 200,000 people built the palace.

5. 4. The Terracotta Army The Terracotta Army are the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Qin Shi Huang the First Emperor of China. They date from 210 BC but were only discovered in 1974 by farmers.T here are more than 8,000 figures including warriors, chariots, horses, acrobats and musicians.

6. 5.Tiananmen Square Tiananmen Square is the large plaza near the centre of Beijing, China near the Forbidden City. It is very important because it was where some famous events in Chinese history happened .

7. Historical Events 6. Gunpowder Gunpowder was discovered in the 9th century by the Chinese. They were not trying to invent an explosive but were trying to find a potion to give them everlasting life.

8. 7. Paper Paper as we know it today comes from China. From as early as 105AD they refined the process of mixing the fibre of plants with water then drying it to make into thin sheets of paper.
