Introduction
This is a basic training I pulled together for a
client of mine. It is based off of the free
Buffer user account.

Agenda
First I will talk about how to use the Buffer
Interface then I will show you How to Buffer
a Post.

List of connected accounts.This is your social media account list.

List of connected accounts.If you are not prompted at the beginning to set up your
accounts, you can go here to connect & verify your social
media accounts.

List of connected accounts.You can also add new, disconnect or refresh your
accounts.

Where you find the content that
you have “Buffered”.
Here is your Queue, or list of messages, that you have
“Buffered” and are waiting to be sent.

Buffer even offers suggestions on posts to share with your
audience. Here they are offering 24 that I can add to my
Queue.

Analytics of your “Buffered” PostsThis is where you will see the Analytics of past messages.

Analytics of your “Buffered” PostsYou can measure posts against one another to see how well
they performed & understand which content works for your
brand.

Where you set the time schedule for your
posts. (i.e. 9:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. each day.)
In the Schedule tab you choose the time your posts will
be sent for each day.

If you have a free account you have to choose a specific time
Monday – Sunday. Here the posts will be sent at 4:35 PM on
each of my platforms.

If you pay for your Buffer and “Upgrade to Awesome” you
will have more flexibility with your scheduling. You will be
able to schedule posts for different days & times.

If your accounts disconnect or you want to
remove an account. Then is where you do so.
Settings is also where you can reconnect accounts if they
disconnect or remove them entirely.

Download the Buffer Extension
First you will need to download the Buffer
button for your browser. You can do so by
going here: https://bufferapp.com/extensions
Your browser will be recognized and the site
will walk you through the steps.

Download the Buffer Extension
Once you download the Buffer App Extension
it will appear in your browser window.

Step 5: When the website to the article opens, click
the Buffer button.
When you find an article that you would like to share. Click
the Buffer Icon.

Step 6: Paste the text you copied before the message in the pop up.A pop up will appear. Write the message you want to share.

Tip: If you want to make it even easier, highlight a quote,
anecdote or other text from the article. When you click the
Buffer Icon, it will copy that text into the message of your
post.

Step 7: Choose the social media icons you want to
share message too.
Then select the accounts you want to send this message too.
*For Twitter you need to keep the URL
(i.e. http://buff.ly/ABCDE) however for other platforms you
can delete this out of the message.

Step 8: Click “Add to Queue” Button.
Then select “Add to Queue”

Step 8: Click “Add to Queue” Button.
If you click the dropdown button you will see additional
options to “Share next”, “Share now” or “Schedule post”.

Step 9: Return to Buffer to double check post appears
and looks correct.
Return to your Buffer Dashboard and you will find the
“Buffered” Post ready to go, under the Content tab.

Tip: As you schedule more than one post, reorganize them for
different platforms so you have some variation across your
platforms.

This will make it less obvious that you are automating your
posts.

These are just some tricks with the free
platform. If you want more flexibility you can
“Upgrade to Awesome” and pay for additional
features.
