• An active member of his community, catering company
president Jeffrey Bussean supports a number of local,
national, and international organizations with a wide
range of missions and goals. One of the local
organizations that Jeffrey Bussean supports is the Mercy
Home for Boys and Girls, a Chicago-based organization
that has been providing support and guidance to
children in crisis since 1887.
In order to maintain its various programs for youth,
Mercy Home relies heavily on its volunteers and various
fundraising and awareness events. One of the
organization’s larger events is March for Kids.
3. Mercy Home’s Annual March
• Held every year during the month of March, the event
serves to increase awareness of the struggles that
children at Mercy Home face and raise funds for the
home.
The campaign includes a number of parades, canvassing
efforts, and online crowdfunding initiatives. Through
these events, Mercy Home has been able to bring in
thousands of volunteers who contribute to the
organization’s ability to provide kids with a safe and
nurturing place. The increased awareness also
encourages people to discuss solutions to child abuse
beyond just the month of the campaign.
