Countable Uncountable

 Things you can count (singular  Things you can´t count (they
    or plural) can’t be plural).

 Countable nouns are easy to  Butter, meat…
recognize. They are things  Some nouns can be countable
that we can count. or uncountable but the
                                       meaning is different.

 Example: "pen".We can count  Example: chocolate
pens. We can have one, two,
    three or more pens
a / an / some / any
 how much / how
      many?
 Use a / an with singular countable nouns.
 Use some with plural countable nouns and
  uncountable nouns in + sentences.
 Use any with plural countable nouns and
uncountable nouns in – or ? sentences.
 We can also use some in ? to ask for and
  offerings
 music, art, love, happiness
 advice, information, news
 furniture, luggage
 rice, sugar, butter, water
 electricity, gas, power
 money, currency
 Uncountable nouns are substances,
concepts etc that we cannot divide into
    separate elements. We cannot "count"
them. For example, we cannot count
"milk". We can count "bottles of milk" or
"litres of milk", but we cannot count
    "milk" itself.
 I've got some money.

 Have you got any rice?
 Sometimes, the same noun can be
    countable and uncountable, often with
    a change of meaning.

There are two hairs in my cofee!

      I don’t have much hair.
