1. The heroism of Canadian Soldiers
Canadian military forces has served in Afghanistan since 2002 till 2011. In those 9
years of nightmare, soldiers has sacrificed joys of their lives for world peace. One of
the biggest joy would be their family. However, not every soldier was fortunate to
return safely and be with their family again.

This is LS Brett Price. He returned to his daughter and his family safely on Tuesday
March 18, 2014 with the last Canadian troops to leave the Afghanistan. As the picture
shows, she immediately shows love towards his 18 month old daughter Brynlee.

There were three soldiers in a vehicle and IED was detonated, which
was under the vehicle. Pte. Demetrios Diplaros , son of Jerry Diplaros,
was one of them. Jerry said that he wishes for one more chance to hug
his son.

On June 26, 2010, Pte. Andrew Miller died in Afghanistan. He was really
young, he was only 21 years old. His mother, Wendy Miller says that she
still cries thinking about him and that the pain of her son’s loss gets more
painful every year.

On November 24, 2009 Cpl. David Bellibeau returns home from a 10 month tour in
Afghanistan. As soon as he landed he gets a big kiss from his wife, Victoria. Their
sincere love is shown through this picture.

In October 2011, Master Cpl. Byron Greff was killed, and was the last Canadian
soldier killed in Afghanistan. He has sacrificed his time with his parents, Candy
and Greg, his siblings Chelsey and Dustin for world peace. They planned to take a
formal portrait when Byron was discharged from Afghanistan but it never
happened.
8. A son peacefully sleeps in his dad’s arm that just came back with the last troops
in Afghanistan in 2011. Now the son can sleep at night not worrying about his
father getting hurt.

This is a picture of comrades carrying the casket of Cpl. Joannette on
July 7, 2009 at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan. The Canadian soldier
died in a helicopter crash and his death is clearly a big sorrow to his
comrades as shown in the picture

Between 2002 and 2011, more than 2,500 Canadian forces has served Afghanistan. They
have sacrificed their most important factors of their lives such as their family or lover for
years and months. However, 158 members of the Canadian Force did not get the chance to
reunite with their family and share the joy and the experience, but only left tears and sorrow
among all nation and especially their family. They will be remembered for the service that
they provided and may all they rest in peace.
