2. Introducing Sudbury
The city of Sudbury is a very unique place rich in Canadian history and tradition that is
actively working towards becoming a leader in the tourism industry. Adam will later tell us
about what differentiates Sudbury from other potential host communities.
• Various venues will be utilized across Sudbury in order to fully support the athletes
and create the best possible experience for them. Michael and Ronan will go over these
venues, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies, and other exciting events.
• The main goal of our presentation today is not only To show how Sudbury can
host the games, but what makes it standout compared to all other competing cities
• The hosting committee has really looked at using these games as a launching
point for change in the both the education and perception of para athletes in Ontario.
• Special efforts have been made to connect and educate the young people of
Sudbury on para sports and people with disabilities, so that we can change the
perception At a younger age.
3. Opportunity – Why Sudbury
1.3m tourists travel to Sudbury on a yearly basis.
800,000 of them stay at least one night.
Tourism generated $175m in revenue in 2015
26,000 people in Sudbury living with a disability

Creating legacy fund to provide backboard to Para sport in Sudbury
Change the culture of Sudbury to become a Para sport community
6. Closing Remarks
We as a collective truly feel that the games will have a life changing impact not only on
the athletes competing but the host community as well.
• By working with local business, organizations, and Educational Institutions, were
ensuring that economic growth creating throughout the area, while creating a structural
framework that others can follow to host future events.
• Sudbury may not have the glitz and glamour of a big city like Toronto, or the
vacation reputation like Muskoka, but that a part of what makes this opportunity so great.
• The city of Sudbury is fully invested in hosting and running the best games
possible and delivering a unique opportunity to athletes that other places wouldn't be
able to deliver.
• An event like this can truly be a building block in changing the way we look at para
athletes and sport in Ontario and Canada.
• This could open the door for Sudbury to become a viable destination for para
athletes and sporting events far after the games have left.
