• Administered the design, development and installation of the “Robot Scientist” at the University of Wales in
Aberystwyth, Wales. The Robot Scientist Project was a multidisciplinary research project involving expertise from
Computer Science, Engineering and Microbiology, and is permanently housed with the Computational Biology research
group at the University of Wales.
• Managed, from conceptual design to on-site installation, the build of a $1M Forced Degradation and Material
Compatibility System for Pfizer Corp. in Ann Arbor, MI. Forced degradation studies involve exposing a drug substance
to harsher conditions than the product would be expected to experience and determining at what point and how it
degrades

Experience Summary
Consultant/Engineering Lead
• Organized and managed a research and development effort in conjunction with the Electric Power Research Institute to
develop a coordinated plan for the construction of new power generating facilities both domestically and internationally.
The project was initiated and funded to advance the methods and design currently used to engineer and construct
generating facilities and included such items as code moderation, technological advances and project management
collaboration.
• Served as the Engineering Lead for work activities associated with the engineering and construction of a $120M generator
replacement project for Consolidated Edison of New York. Specific tasks and responsibilities included Work Package
development and implementation and field implementation of design activities associated with replacing four 350-ton
steam generators.
Project Manager/Consultant
• Served as the overall director for several multi-million dollar clients and projects. Responsibilities included the approval
of all project deliverables, the quality maintenance of all project files and the primary interface with all client contacts.
Specific project activities have included:
• Managed an international team performing Year 2000 (Y2K) readiness assessments for the Egyptian Electrical
Authority (EEA). Simultaneously managed 16 people in both the home office and Cairo, Egypt. Developed
procedures to classify and prioritize components for all embedded systems, software and hardware for Y2K
transitions. Integrated multi-source vendor information to enable detailed Y2K compliance assessments and reported
final assessment results to electric utilities and the U.S. Department of State.
• Directed development teams for two new products, including market analysis, cost analysis, system requirements and
rapid prototype development. First, a prototype document integration system capable of integrating documents from
various software platforms, while retaining their original references and configuration management. Second,
developed an application around a concept based search system capable of searching databases and documents on
concepts vice key words, revealing additional relationships from data.
• Supervised a software quality assurance (SQA) testing team for a web-based application. Analyzed requirements,
developed test cases, conducted risk assessments to prioritize testing and implemented the testing strategy of a human
resources (HR) compensation application.
• Managed the development of a customized database application to control plant design and licensing basis.
• Led a research and development team in the automation of engineering and administrative work processes for
marketing to domestic and international utilities.
• Implemented and participated in a regional Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Program.
• Provided on-going Project Management Training to business unit.
