Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?
1. Who Would Be The Audience For Your Media Product?
2. Planning In order to target the largest audience possible we had to plan how we were going to reach out to people to find out what they like most, as making a product that is what people like the most will mean a larger audience. We decided that to get this information we would have to carry our primary research.
3. Research As we were going to carry out primary research, we then had to decide what questions we were going to propose to people to get the best rounded product for a large audience. One question was to find out what aspects of a thriller movie people like the most, e.g: suspense, action, to be scared, etc. This was so we could pack our product with it. After this, we then had to decide what methods of obtaining this information we were going to use. We chose such methods as questionnaires, polls and Facebook.
4. Graphs From our research we presented our data through the following graphs:
5. Summary From our research we found out that people’s favourite thriller sub-genre tends to be psychological thriller. From this information we then catered for this by making our final media product psychologically-based through the boy suffering from mental issues as he wants to commit suicide, and images of him committing suicide going through his head. Another thing we found out was that people love thriller movies that are packed with suspense, so we tried to cater for this by using a red herring in the opening sequence, as the audience may not pick up on that the suicide attempt was just an image in the boy’s sub-conscious as he was under the water in the bath, until he rises up gasping for air from the bath. Victim is a psychological thriller filled with suspense aimed at any age audience that like a sad movie.
