Remembering Pa's Fiddle and Laura's Little House on the Prairie.
1. Remembering Pa’s Fiddle and Laura’s
Little House on the Prairie
Rocky Ridge Farm – Where Laura lived when she wrote the Little House Books
2. A New Home for Pa’s Fiddle
Laura loved the
music from her
father’s fiddle in
real life. She
wrote of it in the
true stories about
her childhood
such as Little
House on the
Prairie.
7. Laura Had MAIL!
And she answered the letters
from kids who read and loved
Little House on the Prairie
and her other stories.
All of the letters! She sat near
this table to read the letters and
wrote her answers. Her light
was from the lamp Almanzo
made.
The table and mail upon it are
displayed in the Farm House just
8.
9. Artist’s view of the new home for Pa’s Fiddle
The vision — a
museum and library will
preserve the writings of
Laura Ingalls Wilder and
Rose Wilder Lane along
with furniture,
handwork and photos —
the family memories.
10. Preserving Yesterday for These Kids and All Other Kids.
The new center will be large
enough to house the collection of
writings and family things that
Laura and Rose kept for future
generations.
The project for the new museum
and library is ‘shovel-ready’. We
have most of the money, but
need all of it ‘in hand’ to pay
for the construction.
