How to jump higher Basketball
                         #1 Key to Dunking By: Timothy Carter
                                       After much blood sweat and tears I’ve discovered
                                       what I consider to be the best method for How to
                                       jump higher in basketball. Standing only 5” 9’, I’ve
                                       always had a pretty tough time getting the ball above
                                       the rim, so I searched looking for any tips or
                                       exercises I could find to increase my vertical, or
                                       information on how to dunk. When the dust settled I
                                       found that no one really wants to share their key
                                       exercises to jump higher, but since I’ve always had a
                                       never give up mentality I’ve still managed to push my
                                       vertical leap to over 40 inches. It did take some effort
                                       on my part, but I’ll make this process a lot quicker for
                                       everybody else, I going to slice through all the false
                                       information out here, and share with you a couple of
key exercises that get results. These are exercises I’ve used in my routine and since they’re
tested and proven I know they’ll help to increase your vertical, as long as you’re coachable
and willing do give it your all.

Below I’ve put together some great exercises for how to dunk a basketball. With dedication
these tips should add at least an extra 7 inches to your vertical.

First thing first, you need to warm up your body and get a good stretch on all your major leg
muscles. A simple yet effective way to warm up would be to jump rope since I’m sure
everyone can get a hold of a rope, which also helps with your balance and reaction time. If
for some reason you have no rope you can always just run in place. Rather you know it or
not there are many benefits obtained from a good warm up and stretch, such as more
flexibility, greater range of motion, better blood flow for nutrients to muscles, therefor
causing a quicker recovery and faster results for jumping higher.

Next, use these good how to jump higher basketball exercises, which II found to be some of
the best since there plyometric exercises. They will definitely improve your vertical jump,
because they are specialized, high intensity training techniques used to develop athletic
power (strength and speed).

Great Exercises for Anyone looking to Dunk

·     Jumping Knee Tucks - stand and as you jump straight up, momentarily clutching
your knees as close to your chest as you can. Land softly in the same spot and immediately
take off again. Do three sets of 20 jumps, resting one minute between sets and two minutes
after the last.
·        Forward and Backward Line Hop - facing toward a line or tape. Proceed to jump
forward and backward as fast as possible paying close attention to landing over the line. At
completion of the exercise stick and hold the last contact. Do three sets of 20 seconds.
·        Five-Five-Five Squats - specifically made to put together all three aspects of a
vertical jump inside one simple exercise. You're going to hold kettle or dumbbells in your
hands to your sides. Next, need to start first with five regular squats, slow pace. Followed by
five fast paced repetitions. Followed by five jump squats as high as you can. You never stop
moving during these five-five-five squats. Give yourself about thirty seconds. Get right back
into it. Do about three to four sets twice a week.

So there you have it. Straight forward and to the point. I wish I could be there after you put
this information to work and get your first dunk. From dunker to dunker the experience will
be unbelievable. Trust me when I say I have saved you much time and frustration. Just
make sure you hit every set hard and get rest.
