2. This font that has been used on an existing pop magazine, top of the pops represents the artist as friendly, feminine and
cheerful, this is because the font is in very bright and girly colours and is very large which connotes these traits. The
font used for the text is in a plain but bold font which makes it stand out, with the colour that is used it makes it stand
out more and represents pop through the conventional colours of pink and yellow. The smaller writing “OMG! Its” and
“Who’s ready to date a fan?” is in very thin, serif font that has a very feminine look. The language that is used is
extremely suitable and conventional for the audience of the magazine, they have used chatty and informal language
such as “OMG” which represents youth and is conventional for the magazine genre. Because the font is in pink
background with a serif font it represents the pop genre and shows that the target audience is for young girls through
the font style, colours and language used.
The colours that have been used on this text is pink, yellow and white. These colours all represent femininity . The
colour pink represents romance, love and thoughtfulness. It is a very positive and friendly colour that connotes the pop
genre. The colour white represents goodness and perfection, this colour is used a large amount throughout pop
magazines which shows that it is representing to the audience that the magazine is full of goodness and is perfection.
By using the colours pink on the background of white makes it stand out more to the audience and it also represents
pop as a very bright and bold genre.

3. This font that has been used on the masthead of the top of the pops magazine
represents happiness, youth and femininity because of the colour, font and the stars
around it. The colours that have been used are very feminine and youthful which
connotes the pop genre, the font that has been used is a serif font which represents the
audience of young girls which shows femininity. The way that the stars have been placed
all around the masthead of this magazine is conventional for the pop genre and also it
represents that the magazine is aimed at young girls that are very feminine because this
is the type of style that appeals to them.
The specific font style that has been chosen represents the magazine as feminine, girly
and youthful because it is a serif font which is curly and very girly so it is conventional for
the genre, the font with the curls would only appeal to the female audience which is
conventional for the magazine itself.

4. The main image that has been used on the front cover of the top of the pops magazine represents
gossips and secrets. This is represented in this image through the way that the artists are positioned,
they are all positioned either to look like they are whispering a secret and then the other artist is
shocked or as if they have a secret. This represents that magazine to be one that is full of celebrities and
pop artists secrets, this is conventional to the genre of pop because it is what the magazine is about. The
shot type that has been used for this main image of the pop girl band is a mid-shot, this type of shot has
been used to show the readers what the artists are wearing, however a long-shot has not been used so
that you are able to clearly see who they are quickly at a glance.
The clothing that they are wearing is very fashionable and up to date that looks expensive, this
represents the magazine to be an up to date magazine that is always got all of the new gossip inside.

5. The representation that is given through this pull quote is that celebrities are just like their fans, this pull
quote is saying that the artist has major confidence issues which is representing the audience that
celebrities and pop artists have issues too, their life's are not as perfect as everybody thinks. This pull
quote also represents friendliness, this is represented because the way it is written represents that the
artist saying this is being caring and friendly towards the readers by comforting them through saying
that they are not the only ones with confidence issues, it is representing that the magazine is one that is
friendly and that the audience can relate too through the use of language.
The colours that are used in this pull quote do not represent the pop genre very well because they are
dark colours such as black which is rarely used in a pop magazine, however the contrasting the pink with
the black makes the quote stand out more and is bolder to the readers.
The use of capital letters on this pull quote helps to represent the artist as very bold and confident, this
also makes the writing stand out which represents the magazine to be a bright and bold magazine.

6. All of the fonts, font styles and colours that are used throughout the pop magazines all
represent positivity and happiness. All of the colours that are used throughout are all
extremely bright and bold colours that mainly consist of yellow, pink or orange. These are all
feminine and bold colours that are conventional for the pop genre. The colours also
represent the artists that are inside these magazines, these are represented as friendly and
very happy people. This is because all of the colours that are used around the celebrities are
artists are bright colours that connote happiness which creates a representation of the artists
and celebrities around these colours.
