Mrs Morris and Miss Jordan teach together in a big, open double classroom for grades 2KJ and 2KM. The classroom contains 42 students, desks, computers, books, displays, and other learning materials. Technology plays a big role in the classroom with two interactive whiteboards and classroom computers used during literacy and math lessons. Students keep their belongings in bag lockers and choose books from a take-home reader box each morning.

10. We are so lucky to have a big double classroom to work in. Occasionally we pull the doors shut in the middle, but they are open most of the time.

11. We have a little room in between the two classrooms. We use this to store our class materials and sometimes groups of students work in there.

12. Technology is a big part of our classroom. We have two interactive whiteboards and we use them all the time!

13. We have 10 classroom computers which we use during Literacy and Maths.

14. We also love using our iPod touches.

15. We have a comfy couch and a book corner.

16. We like having displays up around our room. Here is our “money wall”.

18. In the mornings, weput ourbags in the bag lockers.

19. Then we change our take home readers by choosing a book from our box.

20. We then sit down and Mrs Morris and Miss Jordan mark the roll.

21. We look at our blog every morning and check how many visitors we’ve had. We show our blog visitors on this number flipchart.

22. We check the board to see what our schedule for the day is. The magnifying glass shows us our weekly focuses. We have a different focus for Literacy, Maths and Integrated Studies each week.

23. This is our Reading Taskboard. It shows the different reading groups and the daily activities for each group. Our group names are the Indonesian colours because Indonesian is the language we learn.

24. We have just started our CAFE board for Literacy. Every student has a reading goal displayed on the board.

25. We have lots of Literacy and Numeracy resources in our classroom.

26. We recycle paper at our school. All paper materials go into the box.

27. We display our birthdays on charts.

28. We share pencils, crayons and textas at our tables but some students also like to bring their pencil cases to school.

29. Outside our classroom is the Prep playground.

30. There is a brand new building being built at the moment.

31. Our classroom is such a fantastic place to learn in!
