2. Summary
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 2
• 2 sets of Air Compressor and Air Dryer are required to be installed in
the manufacturing factory due to increase in workload.
• An appropriate pipeline is required to transfer the compressed air to
the Air Receiver of the factory.
• Completion time: 7 weeks. Due to higher workload and priority in
other sections of the factory, manpower was reduce hence project
was delayed.
3. Air Compressor
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 3
• Supplies compressed air to
machineries around the
factory.
• Manufacturer: KOBELCO
• Model: KobellionII-SG
• Specs: SG1490A-75
• Discharge Pressure: 0.7MPa
• Air Discharge: 14.9m3/min
4. Air Dryer
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 4
• Remove water vapor in
compressed air, which could
cause operational problems.
• Manufacturer: CKD
• Model: Xeroaqua
• Specs: GX8275-AC380V
• Air Discharge: 14.3m3/min
• Matches the compressor’s
power of 100hp.

7. Valves
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 7
• Controls the flow of the
compressed air.
• 2” Valve: Grade PN25
• 6” Valve: Universal
Butterfly Valve
• Valves are capable of
withstanding 0.7MPa of
compressed air.
8. Flange and Gasket
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 8
• Flange are used to connect
two ends of pipes together.
• Slip-on flange is used, which
is welded at the end of the
pipe.
• Flange: Grade PN16
• Gasket: Paper Gasket (to
prevent air leakage)
9. Pre-Filter and After-Filter
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 9
• Manufacturer: FRIUL AIR DRYERS
• Model: FT*160
• Function: To remove impurities.
• Maximum flow rate: 16.8m3/min
• Air Inlet and outlet size: 2”
10. Pipes
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 10
• Pipe type: Galvanized Iron
• Pipes sizes used: 2” and 6”
• 2” pipes: Direct compressed
airflow from compressor to
dryer. Outlet of dryer is then
welded to 6” pipe (header).
• 6” Pipe: Direct airflow to the
air receiver tank.
11. Drainage System
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 11
• Drain out wet air and release
using pressure relief valve.
• Nylon tube is used to direct
the wet air to the drain.
12. Loops
5/7/2015 Pipe Installation for Air Compressor & Air Dryer 12
• Loops are used throughout
the 2” pipelines.
• Create a bypass for the
compressed air to prevent it
from going into faulty
machineries or parts.
• Allows the compressed air
to flow continuously even
when there’s faulty parts.
