3. Introduction
• Internet of things or internet of objects
• unique identifiers and the ability to automatically transfer
data
• By 2020 there will be 50 billion objects in “Internet of
Things”
E.g
• While shopping goods will introduce themselves
• Car will generate alarm if driver made any mistake
• But many challenges waiting us

4. What is the Smart Home
• Network interconnected
• Internet with high speed broadband
• Highly Automated
• Light control
• Climate control
• Improve comfort
• Ensure security
11/18/2014 smart home based on IOT 4
5. Significance of topic
provides comfort, security, energy efficiency and
convenience at all times.
We can control the anything anywhere
• Improve Security
• Save Energy
• Enhance the entertainment experience
• Functionality and flexibility is given to home appliances
• Provide a smart home at low cost
11/18/2014 smart home based on IOT 5
6. Literature Survey
• Design and Implementation of Remote/Short-range Smart
Home Monitoring System Based on ZigBee and STM32
Yuanxin Lin, Rui Kong, Rongbin She and Shugao Deng
• An Efficient Model for Smart Home by the Virtualization
of Wireless Sensor Network
Md. Motaharul Islam, Jun Hyuk Lee, and Eui-Nam Huh
• Internet of Things: Ubiquitous Home Control and
Monitoring System using Android based Smart Phone
Rajeev Piyare

7. Design and Implementation of Remote/Short-range
Smart Home Monitoring System Based on ZigBee and
STM32
• Zigbee: based on short range GSM messages
• STM32: 32 bit microcontroller ckt
chips are grouped in series that are based on 32bit ARM processor
11/18/2014 smart home based on IOT 7
8. • S/w design:
- Open source embedded OS μC/OS-II
-Open source embedded GUI interface μC/GUI
-Short range protocol zigbee
-Open source embedded network protocol
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 8
9. Advantages
• one message is required to control system
• great practical and good scalability
• fast, high efficiency
Disadvantage
• short range monitoring
• Low data speed
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 9
10. An Efficient Model for Smart Home by the Virtualization of
Wireless Sensor Network
• Single node can provide multiple services
i.e reduces cost and complexity
• Network model:
SINP model as a weighted undirected graph
Gsinp=(N,L)
VSN request by ALU
SINP network resources management
Residual resource management
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 10
12. Advantages
• no need to change existing system
• less nodes are required
• provide flexibility, promote diversity, and increase
manageability.
Disadvantages
• unproven abstraction layers may introduce potential
security risks
• More skills required
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 12
13. Internet of Things: Ubiquitous Home Control and
Monitoring System using Android based Smart Phone
– Uses an embedded microwave server with IP
• Proposed system :-
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 13
14. Advantages
• hides processes and allow full interaction
• It is easy to connect any device any time
Disadvantages
• Mobile consume more energy
• Security is an issue
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 14
15. Conclusion
• By allowing virtualization to heterogeneous nodes we can
provide flexibility security and manageability.
• By using phones and tablets we can reduce the cost
11/18/2014 Smart home based on IOT 15
16. Future Work
• future interest is to emphasize framework with multiple
applications sharing the same physical resources that will
facilitate the rapid deployment and low cost of the
emerging smart home.
