1. THE GARDEN OF PROPHETS 2
The Prophet Noah
Patience and a complete trust in God are the outstanding personal traits of the Prophet
Noah. His mission became a turning point of Human history. In other words, the prophet
Noah restarted the human history upon increasing of non-believers and their biggest sin
and blasphemy of denying God’s existence and worse mocking God’s divine messengers.
He was so patient that he invited his people to believe in God for 950 years.
Divine Books
In Old Testament, the prophet Noah was told comprehensively;
“This is the story of Noah. He had sons. Noah had no faults and was the only good
man of his time. He lived in fellowship with God, but everyone was else was evil in
God’s sight, and violence had spread everywhere.”
God said to Noah, “I have decided to put up an end to all Mankind. I will destroy
them completely, because world is full o f their violent deeds. Built a boat for
yourself out of Good timber; make rooms in it and cover it with tar inside and out.’
”(Genesis 6/ 9-14)
“The Lord said to Noah, “Go into the boat with your whole family… I know that you are the
only one in all the world who does what is right? Take with you seven pairs of each kind of
animal. Take also seven pairs of each kind of birds.” and Noah did everything that the God
commanded. When Noah was six hundred years, on the seventeenth day of the second
month all the outlets of the vast body of water beneath the earth burst opened and rain fell
on the earth for forty days and nights.
On that same day Noah and his wife went into the boat with their tree sons, Shem, Ham,
Japheth and their wives. With them went every kind of animal, domestic, and wild, large
and small, and every kind of bird. A male and female of each kind living being went into
the boat with Noah as God commande.
The flood continued for forty days, and the water became deep enough for the boat to
float…It became so deep that it covered the highest mountains. It went on rising until it
was seven meters above the tops of the mountains. Every living being on earth that
breathed died. The Lord destroyed all living beings, animals, and the birds. The only ones
left were Noah and those who were with him in the boat.
The water did not start going down for a hundred and fifty days.” (Genesis 7/ 1-24

2. In New Testament, the prophet Noah was told in the same way Old
Testament did.
“It was fate that made Noah hear God’s warnings about things in the
. future that he could not see. He obeyed God and built a boat in which
. Noah and his family were saved. As a result, the world was condemned,
and Noah received from God the righteousness that comes by faith.” (Hebrews 11/ 7)
When Noah was 601 years old, on the first day of the first month, the water was gone.
Noah removed the covering of the boat, looked around, and saw that the ground was
getting dry. By the twenty seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.
God said Noah go out of the boat with your wife, your sons and their wives.Take all the
birds and animals out with you so that they may reproduce and spread all over the earth.
So Noah went out of the boat with his wife, his sons and their wives. All the animals and
birds went out of the boat in groups of their own kind. (Genesis 8/ 15)
The prophet Noah in Qur’an
As for Qur’an, the prophet Noah was told at length in different verses. The verse Hud is
one of them:
“We sent Noah to his people (with a mission): "I have come upon you with a clear
Warning: That you serve none but God: Verily I do fear for you of the punishment of
a grievous day." (Qur’an Hud 11/ 25-26)
After the prophet Adam, there might be more prophets until the Prophet Noah. At the time
of the prophet Noah, people started denying that God did not exist and leading a life
based on cheating and stealing in any forms. People were blinded with what they saw and
did not believe what they did not see. They were stubborn, arrogant, and unbearable.
But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) you nothing
but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow you but the lowest among
us, that is clearly seen: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we
think you are liars!" (Qur’an - Hud 11/ 27)
Noah said: "O my people! Think over if I rely on a Clear Sign from my God, and that
He had given the mission of prophecy but that this had been obscured from your
sight? Shall we compel you to accept God’s mercy when you are averse to it?
(Qur’an - Hud 11/28)
The conception and understanding of people at that time was no different from those of
today’s people. “Why don’t we see and talk to God? Why don’t angels come upon the
earth so that we can see them? If you are right about what you said, ask God to bring the
punishment you speak of ” are the typical questions of that time of Noah as well as our
present time. (Ch 11:29-31 Quran)

3. The question is that if we have times now worse than that of the prophet’s
time, then, a worse than Flood like punishment would come upon the earth
to cleanse Man’s sins?
“And O my people! I ask you for no wealth in return: my reward is from
none but God: But I will not drive away those who believe: for verily they are to
meet their God, and I admit that you are the ignorant ones! (Qur’an Hud 11/ 29)
The prophet Noah struggled sincerely to convince his people that there is God and
Judgment day, but once he realized that they would not give up their blasphemy, he
gave up on them so did God.
Noah's people were divided into two groups after his warning. His words touched the
hearts of the weak, the poor, and the miserable and soothed their wounds with its mercy.
As for the rich, the strong, the mighty and the rulers they looked upon the warning with
cold distrust. They believed they would be better off if things stayed as they were.
Therefore they started their war of words against Noah. First they accused Noah of being
only human like themselves. 'The chiefs of the non-believers among his people said:
"We see you but a man like ourselves." (Ch 11:27 Quran)
He, however, had never said anything other than that. He asserted that, indeed, he was
only a human being; God had sent a human messenger because the earth inhabited by
humans. If it had been inhabited by angels God would have sent an angelic messenger.
The contest between the polytheists and Noah continued. the rulers had thought at first
that Noah's call would soon fade on its own. When they found that his call attracted the
poor, the helpless and common laborers, they started to verbally attack and taunt him:
“You are only followed by the poor, the meek and the worthless.” "Listen Noah,
if you want us to believe in you, then dismiss your believers. They are meek and
poor, while are elite and rich; no faith can include us both."
Noah listened to the heathens of his community and realized they were being obstinate.
However, he was gentle in his response. He explained to his people that he could not
dismiss the believers as they were not his guests but God's.
Noah appealed to them: "O my people! I ask of you no wealth for it, my reward is from
none but God. I am not going to drive away those who have believed. Surely, they are
going to meet their Lord, but I see that you are a people that are ignorant. O my people!
Who will help me against God, if I drove them away? Will you not then give a thought?
And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of God nor that I know the unseen,
nor do I say I am an angel, and I do not say of those whom your eyes look down upon
that God will not bestow any good on them. God knows what is in their inner selves.
In that case, I should, indeed be one of the wrong doers or oppressors.

4. Noah refuted the arguments of the non-believers with the noble knowledge of
the prophets. It is the logic of intellect that rids itself of personal pride and
interests. The rulers were tired of Noah's arguments. God the Exalted related
their attitude:
They said: "O Noah! You have disputed with us and much have you prolonged the
dispute with us, now bring upon us what you threaten us with, if you are of the
truthful."
He said: "Only God will bring it (the punishment)on you, if He will, and then you will
escape not. And my advice will not profit you, even if I wish to give you counsel, if
God's Will is to keep you astray. He is your Lord! And to Him you shall return."
(Ch 11:32-34 Quran)
He said: "Truly, God will bring it on you if He wills,- and then you will not be able to
escape it! (Qur’an - Hud 11/33)
Our comprehension is very limited and we cannot imagine “the entire world was covered
with water and there was a big ship sailing in it.” This is extraordinary as much as
amazing which we can only explain it through God’s mercy and Ever-Wisdom and Ever
Knowledge only.
If they start making very good and true movies of prophets’ lives, we can witness how
God is so merciful and blessing on us. Otherwise we can only force our imagination to
picture such a historic and miracle voyage of Humankind through God’s blessing and
His prophet. Challenging God became a common trend for non-believers. They aimed
to satisfy their stubborn mind by challenging prophets asking them to bring the Wrath
of God upon themselves; they had assumed that nothing would happen and they would
rest their case. But they were unfortunate and they received the punishment that they
did not expect.
THE ARK WAS STARTED TO BE BUILT UP
It was revealed to Noah: "None of your people will believe except those who have
believed already! So grieve no longer over their evil deeds, but construct an Ark
under Our supervision and Our inspiration, and do not ask ME any favor on behalf
of those who are in sin: for they are about to be drown in the Flood (Qur’an - Hud
11/36 –37)
Noah started constructing the Ark:
Everytime non-believers passed by Noah and his believers who started building the Ark,
they were mocking the priohets and his belivers. They meant, “you are building an Ark,
oh my my ? Am I enttitled to be on the board because I am a non-believer” Of course,
the Prophet Noah and his a bunch of believers had a complete trust in God and they
ignored the non believers!

5. “Every time that the chiefs of his people passed by him, they mocked
him. He said: "you may ridicule us now, but, of course, time will come
that we will ridicule you. (Qur’an - Hud 11/38)
The mocking and belittling were common personal traits of non-believers at
that time and so are today’s nonbelievers. It is kind of “if you can’t dispute it, mock it”
attitude is a ego/pridesaver of non-believers.
"But soon you will know those will undergo the devastating Wrath in this world
and who will have the forever punishment Hereafter” (Qur’an Hud 11/39)
So he said: "you get on the Ark that whether it moves or be at rest in the name of
God. Our God is surely Ever-Forgiving and Most Merciful!" (Qur’an - Hud 11/41)
Then, when there came Our command, and the fountains of the earth gushed forth! We
said: "Embark therein, of each kind two, male and female, and your family - except those
who have already been sentenced by punishment of Flood,- and the Believers." but only
a few believed in him. (Qur’an Hud 11/40)
The sins distracted the man from true Worship and consequently from true faith.
The people turned to be the creatures with no faith, no wisdom, no values, and no
spiritual life: a kind of flesh that was not what God intended. The prophet Adam’s
generations quit to follow in the footsteps of Adam and previous prophets. Ignorance
became bliss and a matter of survival for the people of Noah.

6. Believing NOT in God caused more misery and pain that had given people
all the more reasons to believe that there is no God! They replaced good
with evil. They inserted the materialistic values in the mind of children. They
created a society where a man or woman was unable lead a decent life.
So the Ark floated with them on the waves towering like mountains, and Noah called out
to his son, who had separated himself (from the rest): "O my son! embark with us, and
be not with the unbelievers!" (Qur’an - Hud 11/42)
The son replied: "I shelter myself to some mountain to save me from the water."
Noah said: "This day nothing can be saved from the command of God’s Wrath, but
those on whom He has mercy! "And suddenly the waves came between them, and
the son was among those drowned to death in the Flood. (ur’an - Hud 11/43)
And Noah called upon his Lord, and said: "O my Lord! surely my son is of my
family! You gave me the good news that My family will be saved and your promise
is true, and you are the fairest of Judges!" (Qur’an - Hud 11/45)
God said: "O Noah! He is not of your family: For his conduct he is unrighteous.
and unfair. So ask not Me that of which you have no knowledge! I advise you so
that you don’t act like the ignorant!(Hud 11/46)
Compassion is the essence of the prophets and the Prophet Noah’s compassion came
out in favor of his son as well. But a believer or saved father has no heretical relationship
with his non-believer son.
For God there is no past and no future so HE sees past and future of all people. And God
says “I know your son, his past and his future. He has no faith in ME. and If you take him
in he would trouble you and your next generation. So do no ask anything if you are not
sure whether it is good or bad. Leave it to ME. Trust in ME and your fate that you have to
acknowledge.
Noah said: "O my Lord! I do seek refuge with you, about asking you for that of
which I have no knowledge. And unless you forgive me and have Mercy on me, I
shall indeed be unsaved!" (Hud 11/47)
Why did the Flood Happen?
People at Noahs’ time went astray. They change into a atheist society. Worse, the rich
ones were oppressing the weak ones. Such concepts, wisdom, understanding, being
Content and humble, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the God replaced with deadly
sins as Gluttony, greed, envy, wrath, pride, lust and sloth beyond our comprehension.
The earth could not taken it any more neither did God.
Thus God made a new era for the human history by purifying entire earth and bringing
upon a new generation and giving them another chance

7. The Type of the Ark
It would be normal for Noah’s Ark to be huge since the prophet Noah took the
animals of each pair of each kind in. The Ark should have been a steam ship
not the sailing one as we assume that steam ship could have survived
through those huge waves.
A WHOLE NEW WORLD STARTS ON THE EARTH WITH THE PROPHET NOAH
After the non-believers were drowned, then, the word went forth:
"O earth! swallow up your water, and O sky! Withhold your rain!" and the water
abated, and the matter was ended. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and the word
went forth: " Curse on those ignorant and cruel ones!"(Qur’an - Hud 11/44)
The word came: "O Noah! Come down (from the Ark) with peace from us, and
blessing on you and on some of the believers. (Later again) There will be such
other generations to whom We shall grant their pleasures for a time, but in the
end, grievous penalty will reach them from Us." (Hud11/48)
Conclusion
The other prophets’ followers had worries sometimes but the followers of the prophet
Noah had a complete trust in God and Noah, so they obeyed what ever they were told.
They built the ship with a great patience and hardworking with the prophet Noah; it was
not easy for them while they were a few and the non-believers were in great number.

8. Besides they were under pressure; the non-believers were mocking them all
the time. In spite of all this psychological warfare and difficulties, the followers
of the prophet Noah did not give up their faith and did not get hesitated so
God did not give up on them and awarded them by letting their Ark sail

The Facts that Speak for themselves.
The remains of Ark found on the mountain of Judi in Turkey prove that the Ark was quite
huge and built up very well and maybe bigger than unskinkable Titanic(!)so that it could
bear the big Flood which New testament states that the level of the flood was 70 meters
higher than the peak of the mountains.
The remains of the Ark found in Turkey on the mountain of JUDI in 1960 are completely
matched with the description of Noah’ Ark in Old Testament -Genesis and Qur’an.
Compared to unsinkable Titanic(!), the Ark of Noah is not longer – longer than half of the
Titanic- but wider that Titanic. The ark with 550 feet length and 300 hundred cubits, for its
time that was built, is truly stunning of divine engineering and human accomplishment.

The skech of the Noah’s Ark
Today’s Non- believers: Unfortunately, today, non-believers , or believers who do not have a
true old or new testament, Qur’an free life style brought the consuquences along with it; such as
Crime rate, unsafe cities, countries, heartless people immorality, killing innno-cent people, hatred
one one another because of colour, religion, race, ethniciy, etc, sicknesses like AIDS, internet
abuse, violence, passing laws to legalize gay marriages(Sodom Gomorrha was destroyed by God
because if this same-same relationsships, and worse all these things seemed to us as normal and
it is justfied being as freedom of choice.
In fact, we are not free. We are bound to God and his orders. We did not exist, maybe, 70 years
ago. God created us as the best blessing , gave us life, made us a human being, made a palace
like earth which has alll life conditionsand sent us prophets to lead us to right path and revealed
the holy books like a manual book for our lives to live happily.

10. I wish and pray that the people in entire world will have someday peace, harmony,
mutual respect, and people will have hearts filled with true faith, mercy,
compassion, and love one another regardless of race, religion, colour and race.
This is just a divine inspiration; in future, if any clash of civiliziations happens, and the
whole world is in chaos, it is believed that the country Turkey, where a lot prophets and
saints’ graveyards exist, will act like a big Noah’s ark and save the people who take
shelter in it through divine help of the prophets and saints who lived and died there.
Indeed, the shape of Turkey map looks like a ship.
