The LARGE (Learning Augmented Reality Global Environment) project aimed to create a new augmented reality learning platform to improve education. Led by Magic Solutions in Bulgaria, the project involved partners from schools, universities, and technical institutions in Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania, Romania, Estonia. They developed software called the Content Tool Manager to allow educators to easily create AR content for the platform. The platform's structure included a registration system connecting users to projects organized by topic. The project was in its final testing and implementation stage, with plans for future training seminars and a potential Phase 2.

4. • In the period of 2010-2011 within the
research team of Magic Solutions
recognized that Augmented Reality
(AR) technology is some of the best
innovative technologies of 21st
century.
• We uncovered that AR is used in
many areas of the social and
economic life – marketing and
advertising, entertainment industry
etc., but is poorly used for
educational purposes – only in some
individual cases due to its complex
nature.
How did it start?
5. • In beginning of 2011 we heard about European Commission LLP calls
and very quickly prepared our proposal for ICT horizontal program of
LLP.
• We created a consortium from different institutions that represent all
types of education: schools, universities, VET and adult education:
1. Magic Solutions - coordinator, Bulgaria;
2. NGO Institute for Training of Personnel in International
Organizations (ITPIO)- Partner, Bulgaria
3. Empolese Valdelsa Development Agency (ASEV)- Partner, Italy
4. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Partner, Lithuania
5. School Inspectorate of Bucharest (ISMB), a local public authority-
Partner, Romania
6. Tallinn University of Technology (TUT)- Partner, Estonia

6. The Innovation
• AR technologies
imposes to real video a
graphic content like:
– 3D objects
– Video
– Pictures
– Audio, etc.
8. The results of our work
• Users’ requirements investigation- we meet hundreds
of respondents for this matter.
• Many workshops were done for stakeholders
consultation.
• All these have addressed schools, universities, VET and
adult educators in all the partner countries.
• The methodology for the development of the software
has been produced.
• We elaborated the software for creating LARGE
platform
• We are testing it.
9. LARGE Platform
Structure
This Global Environment consists of a platform, serving as a basis for the system and an
integrated content development tool- Content Tool Manager (CTM), which will allow the
creation of appropriate educational/training AR content by the target groups.
Everything is united in a Users’ Registration/Login system.
Users- Viewing/Login/Creating/ Viewing/Editing Final Projects
Projects are organized by Title, Author, Audience, Subject/Discipline, etc.
