3. 1: TABI: The AgroBioDiversity Initiative
GOAL: to raise the status/role of AgroBioDiversity and
AgroEcoSystems in the development process and
for poverty reduction.
HOW ? Supporting and facilitating initiatives and projects related
to ABD in agriculture, forest and aquatic ecosystems.
FALUP: Supports/facilitates LUP which:
1: includes indigenous agriculture and village forest management.
2: Is realistic, practical and will actually be used by the villages.
Target Areas:
Currently : Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang Provinces

14. 3: Development of vFALUP Process
Initially (2009-2010) followed the green PLUP manual
Then saw that this was unsatisfactory for various
reasons and started to develop improved process.
Key aspects of improved process:
• Work in all villages of a Goomban
• Start village networking from the beginning
• Make repeated missions to village - each mission focus on 2
aspects of LUP
• Ensure focus on current land use and forest cover
