2. Feedback
We have let a numerous amount of people look at the trailer we have
created: 3 students from the college and a media lecturer.
We let the media lecturer have a look at the trailer and he said that we
needed to think about what order the shots where placed because the
storyline wasn’t clear. He gave us suggestions to change the beginning section
as the storyline of the boyfriend dying wasn’t clear enough. One piece of
constructive criticism in which the lecturer gave us was that the white
balance differs slightly from certain shots therefore, can be changed and
balanced out on the newest version of Final Cut Pro. Another suggestion he
gave was to move the flower seen and cut this in between the scenes of the
graveyard and completely cut the parts of Jonathon and Emily together
because this will make the structure a lot more easier to follow. We applied
these changes and then asked three students to give us some feedback.
These students said that the trailer look really professional and clearly
portrays the horror genre clearly.
3. What I should have done differently
I should have got feedback from not just media students or a media
lecturer. I should have tried to incorporate feedback from other people
from in and around the college to see what they think about the trailer
and if they think it meets the codes and conventions of the horror genre.
I should have also tried to complete the ancillary tasks earlier in order for
me to get feedback on this as well and make and changes that the
audience viewers have given me. By doing this I would have been able to
make changes to fit the audience’s preference as this would have
benefitted them most and made them want to go and watch the movie.
