Position: - Designer / Checker.
Working as both a CAD designer using IDEA’S and as Roush’s in
house checker on various powertrain installations for client programs.
. Ford ST170 engine packaging.
. Ford ST220 engine packaging.
. Land Rover Freelander V6 engine packaging.
. Pinzgauer Diesel engine packaging to meet new emissions.
. London Taxi 2.3 North American Ford Ranger engine installation for
North American markets.
. Unique Military vehicle design for the MOD.
. High tech radio and communication systems integration and packaging
into a varied range of Military platforms for the MOD.
Off site positions held for Roush clients.
. Ford Diesel Powertrain Engineering –
Fourteen months working at both Ford’s Dunton Research and
Development Centre and then moving over to the new Dagenham Diesel
Centre on its opening. Carrying out both design and checking for the
Lion V6 and Lynx / Puma design teams. Also creating the engine Master
Assembly for the Lynx engine.
. Visteon –
One year working on the Ford C1 program air induction systems as a
checker involving travel to Visteon’s manufacturing plant in Charleville
France to resolve component and system tolerance and gauging issues.

Ford Research and Design Centre, Basildon, Essex.
Position - Designer / Checker.
Department – Powertrain Systems Engineering. (PTSE).
1983 - 1986
Working as a manual design draftsman creating package layouts, detail
drawings and installation drawings for all PTSE component systems
including Induction, Exhaust, Fuel, FEAD, Cooling and Engine mounts.
1986 - 1988
Working as a CAD designer using CADDS 5 on all of the above
components and systems.
1988 - 1996
Working as a Design Checker specializing in geometrical tolerance
control (GDT) and becoming a permanent member of Ford’s European
drafting standards committee.
During this time I also spent one year commuting back and forth to
Ford’s Genk plant as part of the CDW27 Launch Team.
