LIAM BAINES REFERENCE LETTER
It is with great pleasure that I am writing a recommendation for Mr. Baines. He first contacted
me in December 2014 about the possibility of work in my office as a full time Architectural
Associate. He had completed 3 years of University at the time and at our first meeting. Whilst
his education did not line up with skill and experience we were in search of, we offered Liam
a learning opportunity by way of mentoring him on a task by task basis. I described the general
outline of the way we work and the task requirements emphasizing the high degree of quality
that we are requiring from our team members. He didn't get discouraged, instead he asked
good questions and appeared professional.
We had the pleasure to get Liam involved on various tasks through December 2014 –
February 2015 and during that period I could see him transform from a newcomer, University
student, into a soaking for knowledge Drafter. I am glad I had the opportunity to be part of his
mentoring at the beginning of his career.
Liam was primarily involved on preparing drawings for Resource consent for a multi-density
housing project in Auckland. His tasks included technical drawings, presentation imaging and
ensuring design checking to comply with both the client’s needs and the council guidelines.
During that time he managed to stay focused in his learning to the way such tasks are done
in a working practice. His passion for his career path is evident in his hard working nature and
eager attitude.
I am very pleased with Mr. Baines and believe he would be a good contributing member to
any practice. We wish him well for his career in Architecture that is in search of keen learner
and Architectural Graduate.
