This document summarizes different types of computing devices: desktops which are used for work and internet access from a stationary location, laptops which provide similar functionality portably, tablets with touchscreens, games consoles for gaming and multimedia, PDAs for mobile communication and scheduling, mobile phones for calling, texting, and increasingly internet, and servers which allow devices to connect to networks and the internet through functions like domain name resolution and IP address assignment.

This presentation is to talk about the various
purposes of computers and other machines, such
as a Laptop, Tablet P.C and Games Consol. So I

3. Desktop!
The Desktop is used for
various reasons. You
can complete work and
go on the internet. It is
Easy-to-Use hardware
and is user friendly.
4. Laptop!
A laptop is simply a
portable desktop. It is
used
to, again, complete
work and keep up to
date on the latest
‘Tweets’ and
‘comments’.
5. Tablet!
A tablet P.C is a portable
device with a touch
screen that does the
same as the Desktop
and the laptop, really
the only difference is
the touch screen and is
lighter than the laptop.
6. Games console
Games consoles are
devices that allow the
user to play video games
and more newer versions
allow the user to watch
videos and talk to their
friends via headsets.
7. PDA
PDA’s are Personal
Digital Assistant. They
allow users to call clients
and fellow workers, they
will also remind the user
of important
appointments and other
scheduled events.
8. Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are
portable devices that
allow users to call and
text family and
friends, play games
and, more newer versions
allow the user to access
the internet.
9. Servers!
Severs allow computers to get onto the internet.
There are many different servers:
DNS (Domain Name Server): this type of server
manages the names of the websites and allows you
to type in the names of websites.
DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol): This server
assigns IP addresses to the computers.
Web: This server allows access to websites through
HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol.
E-Mail: This server allows you to send and receive e-
mails to and from friends.
