Background Japanese Animation is a very stylized type of animation, with features very similar to our own, but at the same time hosting features as bigger eyes, or smaller noses.   Japanese Animation can apply to all forms of film and genere's. The films and movies go through the same processes as regular films do. Voice/Film Actors Music  Special Effects
Background Anime is commonly defined as animation originating in Japan. The definition sometimes changes depending on the context.In English-speaking countries, anime is also referred to as "Japanese animation". Known as the “godfather” of anime, Osamu Tezuka, in the 1960s, created many classics such as Astro Boy, Kimba the White Lion, and Black Jack.
Background Anime has a large audience in Japan and recognition throughout the world. Distributors can release anime via television broadcasts, directly to video, or theatrically. Both hand-drawn and computer-animated anime exists. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases, and represents most, if not all, genres of fiction.

Grave of the Fireflies Seita and his little sister Setsuko are left homeless by the firebombing of Kobe in 1945, which claims their mother’s life.  Unable to get in touch with their father in the forces, they move in with their shrewd aunt. Eventually they move to an air-raid shelter in the country, begging and stealing what food they can.

Akira Made in 1988 animated action film written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo Was the breakthrough anime for modern animation. Started the trend in the USA. The special effects were beyond it’s time.

My Neighbor Totoro
My Neighbor Totoro Made in 1988 by Studio Ghibli. The story is about two young girls and their father who move to the countryside. Their mother is bedridden in a nearby hospital. The girls befriend a family of woodland creatures. Mei, mispronouncing the word “troll” from the Three Billy-Goats Gruff, calls the creatures Totoros. This is a Japanese wordplay pun.

  1. First Bullet: In the 60s and 70s when anime first came over, such as Speed Racer, it was also referred to as Japanime.
  2. Similar to the anime Yakitate Japan, Pan is the word for bread in Japanese. So the boy sets out to make Japan, Japanese bread made in Japan. Puns are huge, and they are seen as one of the top forms of comedy. Totoro was even featured in Toy Story 3, an example of Japanese anime breaching into American films.
