1. USB Load Cells
USB load cells have a quick plug-and-measure capability. They work with a computer and very light software to allow
engineers to receive precise force calculations.
Setting up a USB load cell only requires a connection to a computer with a CD drive for the reading software. Commands
are then sent to the USB load cell via the software to take force readings. The process is simple, but the engineers must
realize that the maximum weight limit of a load cell varies by design.

sturdy stainless steel designs, digital USB load cells can withstand weights of up to 10,000 pounds.." At the very least,
these types of load cells bring an accuracy of 0.15 percent, although with high-end models, it can be increased to 0.05
percent.
They can come with a variety of options and accessories, depending on the needs of an engineering firm. Tension
adapters allow for different types of readings. Mounting accessories allow the load cell to be secured to different
locations to allow for readings wherever they are required. With a wireless USB setup, sensors can be placed farther
away from the computer to allow for readings in different areas.
Loadstar Sensors, Inc., makes load cells in various designs, including USB models that can handle a variety of weights.
Loadstar also sells accessories that increase the usability of their load cells.
