2. Canadian History Canada was discovered by seafarers known as Vikings. Leif Ericson was the first European to come to North America. In 1497 an Italian named John Cabot sailed west from Bristol, England, wanting to find a new trade route. The voyage led to the rediscovery of the eastern shores of Canada.
3. Canadian Food This is one of the Canadian foods is Poutine, it is made in Quebec, it is French fries with gravy and cheese. Beaver tales was made in Ottawa. Maple syrup was made in Canada. Tim Horton's is a Canadian restaurant. On commercials they said “Always fresh, always Tim Hortons.”
4. Canadian hockey One of Canada's national sports is Ice Hockey. Wayne Gretzky is Canadian and is the best hockey player to ever play the sport. He is known as “The Great One”
5. Terry Fox Terry Fox was a runner, he run across Canada, to raise money to stop cancer. Unfortunately he got cancer in his leg so they gave him a mechanical leg. He got sick when he was still running, he got sick again and passed away. So every year we do a Terry Fox run to raise money for Cancer.
