5. Translation of Surah Al Ikhlas
• Say, “He is Allah, the one.
• Allah, the Eternal, the Absolute
• He begets not, nor is He begotten
• And there is none equivalent to Him
6. Theme of Surah Al Ikhlas
• It is called Ikhlas which is precisely what
the surah is all about. Ikhlas means to
have faith in God's being and His
attributes.
• Surah Ikhlas directly supports the first
declaration (shahadah) of Islam: "There is
no god but Allah". In this context, Islam is
based on belief in one God (monotheism).

• Surah Al-Ikhlas is 112th chapter of the Qur’an
• The Arabic root of the word Ikhlas is kh-l-s which
means to be purified or refined.

Ahad” and “Al-samad.” These two names

• Surah Taw heed; this is because the belief of
Taw heed (monotheism) has been covered in
this Surah in a very concise and comprehensive
manner.
• Surah Al-Asaas (foundation); this is because
the fortress of faith and deeds stands high on
the foundations of taw heed. Without this
foundation even the greatest of actions are
rendered invaluable.

this Surah is protected from the anger and wrath
of Allah

emitted from it enlighten both worlds of the
