Aims and Considerations sheet
Existing Products:
How many existing artefacts do you feel you will need to look at?
I believe I will have to look at 5 existing artefacts to gain enough knowledge on the subject, and
give myself a clear understanding of what I need to include in my work.
What kinds of artefacts are you expecting to look at?
I will be focusing my attention on posters seeing as that is what I am planning to create. I will also
spend some time looking at how to get the most attention from advertisements on the sides of
buses.
What elements will you be looking at to help you with your research?
I will mainly be looking at the key words used, to see if there is anything I can use to gain the
readers attention, and also the image to text ratio.
Primary Research:
How many people would you hope to question as part of your primary research?
I hope to question between 3 to 5 people. I believe this is a good amount as it allows for variation
between the people I question but also gives me enough time with each one to attain worthwhile
information or quotes.
What age group would you like to target and why?
I would prefer to target those between 18 and 21 to be able to develop more of an understanding
of their position as I am of a similar age.
What methods will you use?
I may be able to use social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. I could also wander
college to try and find willing participants.
How will you know if your research has been successful?
I will know if my research has been successful if I come back with lots of information that has
depth and involves personal experiences.

Considerations:
Why might you need to be sensitive when carrying out research during this project?
I will need to be sensitive because the topic involves personal experiences that may have strongly
affected people’s lives in a negative way.
Could you face any problems when trying to do this research? If so, is there a way to overcome
these?
A problem I could face might be finding willing participants to answer my questions, as some
people may not want to admit to being under such stressful circumstances.
Where would you expect your finished pieces to be displayed and distributed?
On the sides of buses, around York College, and at medical practices.
What funding issues might an organisation like SASH face?
Because of the current economy, the local authorities that used to be able to donate are having to
cut down on the amount they can give.
Because there are so many charities, they are having to go head to head with other good causes
for the public’s money.
