Awards | Distinctions
2011 | Awarded the eCAADe’s “First PhD Grant for Young Researchers”. The Grant
was given to 5 students under 35 and was worth more than 400eur,
including a special students registration fee to attend the 2011’s eCAADe
International Seminar “Respecting Fragile Places”, University of Ljubljana,

2011 | Awarded with a Merit Distinction in the “Young Researchers Competition
UTL/CGD/Delloitte 2011”.The competition granted awards to researchers
under 35, belonging to the Lisbon Technical University and having made
significant work in areas such as Architecture, Computation, Mathematics,
Robotics and Social Sciences.
2001 | Awarded with the 3rd place in the “Autocolante 25 de Abril Competition”. The
competition was promoted by Almada’s City Hall to celebrate the 27th
birthday of Portuguese Democracy and granted awards to young local
artists.
Research Interests
Research activity dedicated to the artistic exploration of the holistic relationship between
Body, Movement and Space and user’s empathic connection with architecture as a source
of well being. Main topics: Architecture; User well-being; Immersive environments;
Embodiment; Phenomenology; Somaesthetics; Computation.

Arquitectura, Urbanismo e Design.
2006 | Colaboration in the research project “Urbanismo Colonial- os Planos de
urbanização nas antigas provincias ultramarinas, 1934-74”, at the Squares Office,
Department of Urbanism, FAUTL. Role: digitalization and management of
data to use in research such as cartography, maps, and process files. Coord.

2004-2005 | Colaboration in the study of Almada City’s Urban Planning Project, during
the course on Urban Design I, of the 3rd year of Architecture’s Diploma at
FAUTL. The study was conducted by students coordinated by Professor
João Sousa Morais (PhD, chair) and was sponsored by the City of Almada’s
Municipality.
