Reading Passage
Primary 2
David, Jane, Mom and Dad went to the pet store
because David and Jane wanted a pet. There were lots
of pets at the pet store. There were rabbits, birds, fish,
puppies, kittens, turtles, lizards, snakes, and guinea
pigs.
Mom was scared of the snakes. “We are not getting
a snake,” said Mom. “Yuck! They are scary.” Jane
wanted to get a puppy. “No, we are not getting a puppy,”
said Dad. “They cost too much money.”
Jane then decided she wanted a bird, but David
decided he wanted a rabbit. “We are only getting one
pet,” said Mom. “So you need to agree on one pet or we
won’t get one.”
Finally, David and Jane agreed on getting a kitten. It
was small and cute. They picked out a black and white
kitten and decided to name her Kitty.
