Foods, generally are something we need in order
to survive. They are of daily needs and basic
necessity.
3. Poverty?
Poverty is the deprivation of food, shelter, money
and clothing that occurs when people cannot
satisfy their basic needs. Poverty can be
understood simply as a lack of money, or more
broadly in terms of barriers to everyday life.
4. Facts?
Almost half the world - about 3 million people -
live on less than USD$2.50 a day.
The poorest 40 percent of the world's
population accounts for 5 percent of global
income. The richest 20 percent accounts for
three-quarters of world income.
22000 children die every day due to lack of
food
5. Effects?
Poverty cause widespread diseases and
hunger
One third of deaths, some 18 million people a
year or 50,000 per day, are due to poverty-
related cause
Since 1990, 270 million people have died due
to hunger
