2. Impetus Portugal - Têxteis, S.A., is an industrial
company devoted to the production and
commercialization of underwear, loungewear
and beachwear, founded in December 1973 with
only 6 employees, is nowadays leader of a Group
of 10 companies, of which 4 of them are linked
to production and the remaining are subsidiaries
dealing with the distribution within the main
European markets. Since 1990, Impetus Portugal
- Têxteis, S.A. has been investing in Design and
I&D, employing skilled people and using adequate
materials, so creating the self brand IMPETUS.
The fact of being a vertical company, with its
own design department, product development,
jerseys weaving, dyeing, nishing, confection
and logistics, permits the brand IMPETUS to
enjoy strong competitive advantages, both in
its capacity of developing new and innovative
products and in whatever refers to quality control.
IMPETUS activity is focused on middle/upper-
middle market share in western Europe and is
distributed in 35 countries worldwide. IMPETUS
target is the urban and cosmopolite sort of
customer, demanding and determined in his/
her preferences, concerned with his/her outlooks
and quality of life. With IMPETUS brand, Impetus
Portugal - Têxteis, S.A. covers all the segments
of men underwear, loungwear and beachwear,
also o ering since 2005 a separate and complete
fashion line (total look in intimate fashion and
beachwear) for woman between 25 and 40 years
old, predominantly urban and quality demanding
in everything relating to their underwear.
3. EUROPEAN CREATIVE GROUP
The nineties, among with the deep society
transformation, based the major jump of
Impetus strategy. Our position is in the core
of the European creative brands that in the
last years reinvented the man’s underwear,
turning it into fashion.
The development of product allows us to be
always ahead: each year we launch more than
800 references that distinguish themselves by
the style, search of the colour, development
of materials and functional properties of the
models. Nowadays, Impetus is in the top 10
of the main European companies of fashion
segment. It’s also one of the companies
that presents a higher growth rates in the
more competitive and demanding European
markets in terms of design and quality, and is
expanding with ambition in the new realities
of the Russian and Chinese markets.

5. TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION

was a pioneer in the development of the
seamless in cotton and nowadays is pioneer
in the development of ranges produced
with high-tech natural bres like Tencel,
Lenpur or Modal. In Impetus we think that a
brand is fashion and image, but also that his
consistency depends on the capacity of being
in the front line of the development and
innovation of products.
The Pluton line is elaborated in Lenpur, de ned
as the “vegetal cachmere” that gives an
exceptional softness. It’s a seamless model with
di erentiate and innovative characteristics.

7. AND IN THE 7TH YEAR IMPETUS CREATED
THE WOMEN COLLECTION
With the international consolidation of the
male segment, Impetus decided to use all
its know-how for the development of a new
generation of underwear and loungewear
products for the woman, starting of the
renovation of concepts and the domain
acquired in the seamless technology. By the
end of 2003 was born a department dedicated
to the development of a woman line.
8. DEVELOPMENT OF BRA
We invest in technology and technical formation
that is necessary for the development of bras
that started to be part of the Impetus o er with
the same standard of quality of innovation that
we demand for all our ranges.
9. MPETUS ALSO INNOVATES IN BRA
The complete control of the development
process of our products (Impetus dedicated
1,5% of annual sales for I&D) allows that
the brand innovate also in areas where its
presence is more recent. One example is
the development of TWO UP, a special cup
designed by IMPETUS, o ering more volume
to the breast in a most natural way (usually
two sizes up).
10. BEACHWEAR
Nowadays, the range is spread all over intimate
woman fashion collection, from underwear,
bras, technical interiors, lingerie, homewear
and beachwear.
11. BEACHWEAR
The men’s range was completed in 2007
with a complete line of beachwear. Again
Impetus invested in cutting edge technology
that allows a vertical production also for this
segment of products.
12. In 2009 Impetus do an agreement to have a
license of Eden Park, a French intimate fashion
Brand. The Brand was founded in 1988 by
Franck Mesnel and Eric Blanc, and other old
players of French Racing Rugby Club and of
the French Selection, winner of some editions
of the 5Nations Match, being felt inspired in
this sport for its high lines range.
13. COUP DE COEUR
In 2009 Impetus acquired the worldwide licence
of the French Brand Coup de Coeur (excluding
the USA), created in 1983 by the French duo of
designer Alix de Riberolles and adman Jacques
Loyer. Coup de Coeur is a reference as an intimate
fashion Brand for all family, with an irreverent
and funny style.
