2 Thessalonians 2:1-12

God’s Timetable II
An order for those things we are sure will take place in the future


After the Rapture then will be:

THE REVELATION OF ANTICHRIST
(2:3-5, 8)

A. He will come as a peacemaker.

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need
that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so
cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden
destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with
child; and they shall not escape. (KJV)

Revelation 6:2

And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had
a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth
conquering, and to conquer . (KJV)

B. He will pretend to be a protector.
Daniel 9:24-27

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to
finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make
reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to
seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the
commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the
Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street
shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for
himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city
and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the
end of the war desolations are determined.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst
of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for
the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

B. He will pretend to be a protector.

The Tribulation is a continuation of God's dealings with Israel in the
prophecy about the 70 weeks.
Each of these "weeks" is 7 years long,
69 of them have already happened,
70th week is yet to occur

C. He will break his own treaty in the middle of it.
Daniel 9:27

And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in
the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation
to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall
make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that
determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (KJV)

C. He will break his own treaty in the middle of it.
At the 3 and 1/2 year mark of the Covenant, something will happen
that gives Antichrist the confidence to remove all restraints.
(I believe it will be God's destruction of Gog and Magog as is
described in Ezekiel 38-39.)
Gog and Magog are most likely Russia and her allies.

It is at this point that Antichrist becomes

D. A persecutor
Revelation 13:15-17

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and
they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is
able to make war with him?
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and
blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two
months.
And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his
name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome
them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not
written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the
world. (KJV)

It is at this point that Antichrist becomes

D. A persecutor

Revelation 7:1-9

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four
winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a
loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in
their foreheads.
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and
four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve
thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve
thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds,
and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and
palms in their hands;

Finally, Antichrist becomes
E. A Prisoner.

Revelation 19:19-21
And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered
together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his
army.
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought
miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the
mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were
cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse,
which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with
their flesh. (KJV)



(2:3-5, 8)

Finally, Antichrist becomes
E. A Prisoner.
At just the time God has appointed, Christ
Will return from glory,
Will destroy Antichrist's army and
Will cast Antichrist into the bottomless pit and the Lake
of fire to suffer alongside every other unsaved soul.


Which brings us to the third event in God's Timetable,

THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST.

A. Judgment of Antichrist and Satan
Vs 8-9
Revelation 19:20
And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet
that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived
them that had received the mark of the beast, and them
that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into
a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (KJV)


Which brings us to the third event in God's Timetable,

THE RETURN OF JESUS CHRIST.

A final word of warning .
Vs 11
This tells us that there is a point when, after a person has heard the
truth and has refused to be saved, God sends upon them delusion so
they believe a lie and cannot be saved.
