What is Your Vision:
What Problem Are You Trying To Solve and WHY? (Remember to include what issues the problem is CAUSING)
Use the 5 why methodology to better describe current state
PLAN - Implement the Change VERIFY Success, & Adjust as Needed
Who is doing what, and when might it be completed? Verify Results - What were your conclusions?
1. Why is this problem occurring? The laminate adhesion is
not being checked often enough to catch the pieces with
loose laminate.
2. Why is that? Per standard work, every 20th piece must
be checked for adhesion.
3. Why is that?
4. Why is that?
5. Why is that?
List Possible Solution(s) -
check more parts mor often
A number of laminate skins needed to be remade due to the fact the laminate did not adhere
to the core board. This is costly due to the time spent re-making skins. i.e. the work must be
done twice.
We check 1/20th of the work coming off the press
for loose laminate. 8 parts made it through the
process without being caught.
Revise Standard work to check one part in every 10
for loose laminate.
Matthew Larson will coach operators on 2nd shift
and Cinder Belcher will coach those on 1st shift and
revise standard work for the label station to include
revised laminate adhesion check procedure.
