The annual meeting of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce was held on January 16, 2009 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Lee R. Luff and Todd R. Davidson presented as the chamber president and 2008 board chairman. Phil Ashley was introduced as the 2009 board chairman. Several awards were given out, including Ambassador of the Year to Scott Smith, Non-Profit Director of the Year to Laurie Ashley, and the Leadership Anderson Alumni Award to Carol Burdette. Michael Wilson also presented the Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award to J. Carey Jones. Congressman Gresham Barrett also attended.
