I have worked as a District Sales Manager the last 26 years. My experience has been in
direct delivery and retail sales. Having spent several years in Grocery retail, involved in
most departments with regards to inventory control, ordering and merchandising I have
spent the latter part of my careers (26 years) managing territories and routes. Territorial
responsibilities included route management controls ranging from route structures,
company policy compliance, merchandising, and H R issues. I was also accountable for
facility and vehicle maintenance along with Safety training. As a manager, budgets and
goals were targeted. Employee safety is always first. Positive employee morale builds a
successful company.
Experience
DISTRICT SALES MANAGER — BIMBO BAKERIES USA 1990-2014
Responsible to meet all customer needs in territory by managing assigned route salesman.
Budgets, goals and safety objective expectations are forecasted annually. I was involved in
training the sales force to adhere to company standards, policies, and safety practices with
a positive attitude and understanding of the company core values.
ROUTE SALESMAN — OROWEAT FOODS (BIMBO BAKERIES) 1988 — 1990
Maintain product levels in assigned accounts while controlling returns and building sales.
Need to establish good customer rapport. My route had a unit budget and a return
budget to attain. There were expectations for following company merchandising
standards, company policies, and a high standard of customer service.
DELIVERY DRIVER — GALVIN SUPPLY 1982 —1988
Deliver pre-ordered and pulled product to assigned customers on daily route. Company
went out of business.
SALESMAN — HOLIDAY VENDING 1977 — 1982
Service assigned locations with vending machines. Solicit new accounts. Do minor repairs
and replacement of broken equipment. Company went out of business
ASSISTANT GROCERY MANAGER — HOLIDAY FOODS 1973 —1977
Responsibility of closing and opening store operations, maintaining grocery, produce and
frozen department’s inventories and displays, meeting with outside salesman.
