LR Forum Mike Moran RSCni Programme 10:00 Registration and Tea/Coffee 10.20 Welcome and Introductions Mike Moran - RSCni 10.30 Visits to College Libraries in London – Ruth Hutchinson made a number of visits to college libraries earlier this year. She will share her observations on what she saw and discuss these with participants. Ruth Hutchinson – LR Manager, Northern Regional College 11:00 News Exchange Among LR Staff – An opportunity for delegates to exchange news on LR developments and activities in colleges 11.15 Common Practices in Inducting Students and Staff – At this time of the year colleges will be starting to plan for their new intakes of users after the summer. This session will kick off an exchange of ideas across the colleges on what approaches are currently being used and try to distil the best. A prompt sheet is provided separately for participants to consider in advance of the Forum. Participants 12.00 Options for Providing Induction Materials – a review of some of the tools that can be used for producing and distributing materials. LR Forum Mike Moran RSCni Group Discussion We are going to use a technique called ‘Stirring Pots’ to generate and record ideas that are being used or could be used in devising or improving your approach to induction.
