loans?

2. You can renew the loans on items
borrowed from the Library up to 3
times*, provided they have not been
reserved by another student.
There are 3 ways you can renew
your loans.
* This does not include books borrowed through Inter Library Loans.
You must speak to Library staff if you need to renew an Inter Library Loan book.

3. 1. In person
• Come to the Library
counter on the ground
floor of the LRC.
• Staff there will open your record and
renew your loans for you.

4. 2. Do it yourself with your
Heritage Account.
• Every student who joins the Library has
their own account on the Heritage
Library Catalogue.
• You can use this to renew your loans
and reserve books too.

5. How to find the Heritage Library
Catalogue.
• You can find it on the Intranet/NCD Online.
• Look for it under Systems.
• Click on the Heritage Library Catalogue link and
then click on the button in the next screen.

6. Using your Heritage Account
• When Heritage opens
enter your enrolment
number and PIN in the
boxes on the right of the
Screen.
• Click on the Login button.
• Your account will now open.

7. Using your Heritage Account
• Click on the Account tab to see the items
you have out on loan.

8. Using your Heritage Account
• Click the tick boxes on the right and then
click on the Renew button.

9. Using your Heritage Account
• Your loans will then be renewed, provided:
– they have not been renewed 3 times before.
– they have not been reserved by other
students.
– Your account has not been blocked due to
outstanding overdue charges.

10. 3. By phone
• If you cannot get into college or are unable
to renew your books through Heritage, then
please phone the Library on
0191 375 4370
• Staff will be happy to renew your loans for
you.
