Mon, Ma, & Mes all translate
to the word “MY” in English BUT…
3. Mon, Ma, or Mes?
In French, you have to use:
MON with words that are
masculine and singular
A few examples:
Mon père, mon frère, mon ami, mon chien
4. Mon, Ma, or Mes?
In French, you have to use:
MA with words that are feminine and singular
A few examples:
Ma mère, ma soeur, ma maison, ma calculatrice

MES with all words that are plural
A few examples:
mes frères, mes soeurs, mes calculatrices

CAUTION!!
If the word is singular and starts with a vowel
you MUST use MON
(Even if it is a feminine word!!)
A few examples:
mon amie, mon écharpe
