3. ‘Odisha Khabar’ is India’s first mobile news client in an Indian local language , Oriya. This has been developed in an
initiative by www.MobileWish.com to bring Oriya news to handsets of public.
Please note that At this point of time, of this publication, Odisha Khabar, is a test /prototype application, that demonstrate
the capability of regional language content to be published on mobile using Adobe's technology. So all the news items
published in this version v1.0.0 (Public Beta)is for demonstration purpose only. We do not gurantee the authenticity/truth
of any news content published. If in future, any third party publishes news via this client, you may be able to get the real
time news at a later point of time using the same client. But if that happens, we will announce that explicitly on MobileWish
website.

4. About
Odisha Khabar is a news client in Oriya language. This is India’s first mobile client that offers
news in a regional Indian language. This application is a freeware and the users do not need to
pay any fees to get the benefit of this service.
This application has been developed by Samir K. Dash of www.MobileWish.com in an initiative to
bring mobile ecosystem to Indian regional language. This is a part of MobileWish.com’s “Be
Mobile” initiative. For more details on “Be Mobile”, refer to the later part of this document or visit
MobileWish.com homepage.
We are looking for some news/media service, who can support to provide the actual news
content to this.

5. Features of ‘Odisha Khabar’
Via ‘Odisha Khabar’, users can get the latest news and weather related information regarding
Orissa (a state in the eastern side of India). The news client provide all the navigational labels as
well as the pure informational content in Oriya fonts. This application is a GPRS enabled
application, which makes it possible for users to get the latest news about Orissa from any corner
of the globe.
There are two sections of this client, one is about today’s news – this highlights upto 10 recent
news headlines along with brief details on each of these. The second section is on weather in
Orissa. In this section users can get latest weather related updates about 4 major cities across
Orissa , namely Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Berhampur. These details about weather
includes temperature as well as the normal weather information rearding rain and sun .

Where to get Odisha Khabar and Flash Lite Player
Odisha Khabar can be downloaded from both www.odisha.com as well as www.mobilewish.com.
For the Flash Lite Player, you can visit www.adobe.com . Most of the handsets now a days come
with Flash Lite Player preinstalled. In case you do not have the Flash Lite Player preinstalled, you
can get the latest player from www.adobe.com for FREE . For older version of Flash Lite Player,
you can send queries to Adobe’s customer service.
Requirements:
You need a handset that has a Adobe Flash Lite (version 1.1 or higher ) Player installed. A
Existing list of Flash Lite 1.1 handsets which can run this application is given at a later section of
this document.
As OdishaKhabar is a GPRS dependent application, your handset must have the GPRS feature
enabled.
(Please note that the names of the files may vary slightly)
The current version of Odisha Khabar client (i.e. version 2.0.0) is available for download in 3
forms:

6. 1. As a SIS package file : odishakhabars602nd.sis (for Symbian Series 60 second
rd
edition phones) and odishakhabars603rd.sis (for Symbian Series 60 3 edition
phones)
2. As a SWF file : odishakhabar.swf
For those smart phones which can run Flash Lite 1.1 , but are not mentioned above.
3. As a EXE file for desktops: odishakhabar _online.exe
This is a desktop version of the client, which you can use on your desktop to login and
send and receive your mobile greetings.
4. A web version of the client will soon beavailable
Installation
1: Installation of SIS installer version of Odisha Khabar:
Step 1
Select and click the SIS file using the PC suit through (provided with your Nokia
handset). It will open up the Nokia Application Installer.
Now click ‘OK’ to continue.
Now this will copy the file to your Nokia handset and will start the installation process.
Alternatively you can copy the SIS file to your handset and click on it to start the
installation process.

7. Step 2
Now you see similar screens on your Nokia set as shown in the following:
Now select Yes to continue.
Now select Install to continue.
Now select the drive where you would like to install
the application. In the image Phone Memory is
selected.

8. Installation is in progress and at the end of it you will see
the message saying that the installation is successful.
After a successful installation you will see the MobileWish icon will appear in Menu
section . Clicking this icon will run the Odisha Khabar client !
2: Installation of SWF version of MobileWish:
Step 1
If you have downloaded the SWF file version of the Odisha Khabar, then first copy it
to your phone’s memory using either the Bluetooth or PC Suit application supplied to
you with your handset.
You need to copy this file to the folder named ‘Others’ , either in the phone’s memory
(i.e. C:Others) or Memory card (i.e. E:Others)
Step 2
Now go to Menu of your phone’s interface and run Flash Player by clicking on it .

9. It will show the available SWF files present on your phone. Now browse for
OdishaKhabar.swf and select it to run. It will run the Odisha Khabar Client on your
phone.
3: Installation of Desktop version of Odisha Khabar :
The desktop version (i.e. in .EXE file ) is not meant for the mobile handset, rather it is
developed to help the end user to access news in Oriya of Odisha Khabar on a PC
connected to internet.
Just place the desktop version of the client in any where on your
PC and it’s ready to use. Just click on it to run the application.
Run and Navigate in the Odisha Khabar client
Running the Odisha Khabar Client you will see the Splash screen first where
you can select the button for table of contents.

11. Now you will see the table of contents where all menu items are in Oriya language. To navigate in
the news client you can use the up/down/left/right buttons of your handset. If your handset has
soft keys, then left soft key button will have the same functionality that of the left key and same is
the case for right soft key.

Odisha Khabar can run on any device that support Adobe Flash Lite1.1 (with fscommand2) , 2 or
2.1 Player. Most of the device manufactures like Nokia, Sony Erricson, Samsung and LG have
devices to their list that support Flash Lite technology. Flash Lite has also become a standard
platform for nearly all handheld and mobile OS like Symbian, Windows Mobile and Brew.
