Letter of reference
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for
Mr. Mohammad Soliman. I have had the pleasure of viewing Mr. Soliman’s
professional work over the past 6 month, and I can state with confidence that
he is a motivated and responsible person with a high degree of integrity. As
such, I expect that he will be a very positive addition to your institution.
As the mentor during the development of his Master Thesis, I got to know Mr.
Soliman quite well. He started his Master Thesis in the area of sensor
development at November 1st
2014 and finished on 30th
of April 2015.
During his thesis Mr. Soliman developed a GNSS simulation environment in
Matlab/Simulink to investigate the influence of different error sources on
GNSS position accuracy. The focus lied on the development of algorithms for
integrity monitoring to detect possible failures in GNSS measurement and to
remove these from the position estimation. He simulated the GNSS space
segment with realistic satellite constellations. In the GNSS user segment he
implemented a position estimation using the simulated GNSS signals.
During his work he analyzed receiver autonomous integrity monitoring
algorithms (RAIM) for detecting simulated errors in GNSS measurements and

to examine their influence on the position estimation. The algorithms should
be able to detect position errors above a certain threshold with a defined
probability.
Mr. Soliman has shown a great ability to make himself familiar with new topics
and he is capable of analyzing complex problems and to implement this into
algorithms. His competence in Matlab/Simulink was very advantageous.
He always worked independent, focused and precise and was able to present
and to communicate his results well. Mr. Soliman fulfilled all of his tasks to our
full satisfaction. He was a very valuable team player. His behavior towards
superiors, colleagues and externals was always correct.
We thank him for his very good work and wish him all the best for his
professional career and his personal future.
