The document proposes a campaign project aimed at 16-17 year olds about minimum wage and employment rights. The campaign will compare the minimum wage and rights of 16 versus 18 year old workers and argue whether age should determine pay. It will be presented through a poster showing human rights of 16 year olds, a 30-second radio interview between workers of different ages, and a TV advert portraying a student's work experience. The goal is to educate young people on their employment rights and the fairness of minimum wage differences.
2. Equal Pay Equal Lives
• THE CAMPAIGN PROJECT IS FOR 16-17 YEAR OLDS.
• THE CAMPAIGN IS MAINLY ABOUT THE MINIMUM WAGE AND IF IT IS FAIR
OR NOT
• IT WILL SHOW 16 YEAR OLDS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND 18
YEAR OLDS WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING
• I WILL ALSO DISCUSS THE WORKING RIGHTS FOR 16 YEAR OLDS
COMPARED TO 18 YEAR OLDS.
• THIS PITCH WILL BE MEANINGFUL TO 16 YEAR OLDS AS, IT IS RELEVANT
TO THEM AND EXPLAINS THEIR RIGHTS FOR EMPLOYMENT.
3. Target Audience
The target audience for my campaign is 16-17 year olds.
It is aimed at any gender, any ethnicity
It is made for those who are looking for a job or already
have one
Also, it is for those who don’t know their working rights or
the amount of minimum wage they get
4. Message
The message I am sending to the audience is that, Should
age determine our amount of pay?
Why shouldn’t the amount of work that we individually put
in determine our pay?
This campaign will show whether or not the minimum wage
should be raised or lowered.
It will show how 16 and 18 year olds get treated at work and
if employment is fair.

have to work to gain an acceptable

7. Presentation in Radio Advert
The radio advert consists of an
interview between he presenter, a 16
year old worker and an 18 year old
worker
The radio advert lasts for 30 seconds
The 16 year old could be someone
searching for a job, and doesn’t
understand the minimum wage
8. Presentation in TV Advert
• The TV advert could consist of a student in
class, studying
• And must be a 16 year old, can be any gender
• Then they leave the class to rush to their job
• They get told that the minimum wage for them
is lower than they expected
• It will show their emotions, feelings and
thoughts
9. Time Plan
A week to gather my research
24 hours to create my poster and to finalise it
24 hours to plan my radio advert
24 hours to plan my TV advert
15 minutes to get audience feedback
This campaign project is about the working rights for young 16 year olds and if they are fair for them and if they benefit them or not. I will explain through out this campaign whether or not these rights are justified and unbiased as for 16 year olds compared to 18 year olds. I will produce a pitch, which will show to the audience what I think about the rights for 16 year olds and will eventually show what my campaign is and the message that the campaign is supposed to show to the audience. This pitch should inform you about my campaign but will not show you all of my campaign as the other sectors of the presentation should eventually show you. The ideas I am trying to produce and explain are ones that are important and relevant to the target audience of the campaign. A idea I am trying to show is the idea of, the right where a 16 year old is not allowed to get a higher minimum wage when working and the wage that they should get, depending on the amount of work they put in. It is a relevant and a powerful idea that will show to the audience what the beliefs and views are on this specific right. Another idea is that the working hours for 16 year olds are more shorter than he amount of hours that 18 year olds are allowed to work for. So this idea is important and it affects me as well as I am the same age as the people that I am campaigning about.
The target audience of my campaign is for any gender, aged between 16-17 year olds and their rights to work. Also, it is for the type of people that are looking for a job (or have one) but don’t believe these rights are fair and are biased. This type of audience is a popular audience for these types of rights because it is the particular age that normally tries to get a job when they leave school. So this audience is a good audience as there are many cases seen on the news about the working rights for 16 year olds. I will be able to get many relevant views from the audience and different opinions or feelings towards the campaign, as the topic is relevant to them and meaningful for them.
The message the campaign is supposed to produce is that any teenager that is looking for work should be treated equally as if they were 18 years old (or older). Also, the campaign is supposed to show the rights for employment and labour, for young adults such as 16-17 year olds. To be specific the message shown is supposed to show how 16-17 year olds feel towards employment and this campaign should change their views on the minimum wage. Furthermore, the message that it produces is whether or not the message should be raised or lowered, because it seems unfair to them. That your age determines the amount you should get paid. Also, the sub-message that is sent to the audience is you would work but not get paid that much, regardless of how hard you work.
The poster that I am going to create for my campaign is a human rights poster that has a picture of two different people. The two people are one college student and another subway worker, who are both around the same age. It shows to the audience what student employees have to go through. This image is powerful and it specifically shows the message I want to spread across the campaign. Which is, many young teenage workers put just enough effort as other elder teenagers. The text written on the poster is a powerful quote that has a useful fact on the unemployment rate for teens and unskilled citizens.
I could present the advert through a radio advert so people can listen to it if they suffer from temporary blindness or bad eyesight in general. The radio advert could consist of an interview taking place where a young 16 year old, searching for a job, could answer questions. Also, there could be an 18 year old being interviewed, and he gets asked questions about his job. The radio advert should be about 4-5 minutes long as the interviews should be long and would then be more informative and interesting to here what the students have to say about the minimum wage and the jobs available for them.
