3. Why I chose this topic?
• The emergence of new technologies over the past few years has resulted in
a transformational change in the world around us. From the rise of social
media with it’s over 1 billion subscribers worldwide, to the ubiquitous
spread of mobile phones and the resulting explosion of big data and big
analytics, the world around us is changing faster than any one of us could
ever imagine.
• I was driven to this topic due to Mobility and Role of analytics in
applications . The way these technologies drive todays applications and
businesses is very dynamic and their high impact creates a lot of thirst in
me. By using these technologies we experience people experiences , which
in turn often trigger far-reaching social and cultural transformations.
4. • The evolving technology industry has opened new gates for the Indian IT-BPO
vendors in the form of nexus of four forces – SMAC (Social Media; Mobility;
Analytics; Cloud). This is a fast growing field in Information Technology.
• we operate in markets dominated by big business. Enterprises have generated new
technologies and new products, which in turn often trigger growth of the country
and people.
5. Future Prospects Of SMAC
• S (Social) : 76% of businesses are using social media for business
objectives this year.
• M (Mobile) :72% cited improved productivity as a driving factor in
adoption of smart mobile devices.
• A (Analytics) : 76% of executives are working to increase their company’s
use of analytics.
• C (Cloud) : 92% are satisfied with their cloud based services and will
increase them in 2015.
• By 2016, most app will sync, collect and analyse data about users and their
social graphs.
.
6. • SMAC will drive around 90% of all growth in IT market from 2013 to
2020
• India will export $ 15 Billion worth of SMAC software and services by
2017.
• By 2020, IT businesses will generate $ 225 Billion revenue using SMAC.
• The SMAC does not represent the next new technology to be “bolted
onto” your existing business model. Instead these technologies will
transform the business model, itself.
7. Work Preference
I would like to work in any business looking for transitions in their business models
using these technologies. I am looking forward to enhance my capabilities and have
practical experience in this exciting field.
Innovation using SMAC technologies:
• Disruptive technologies such as SMAC (Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud)
are carving a new path of innovation in banking functions and strategy.
Measures like data aggregation, customer relationship management ,portfolio
management and financial inclusion initiatives is essential to take banking to the
next level of growth.
• SMAC presents exceptional opportunities to businesses that were earlier
thought non-existent or unprecedented. The way needs of new age customer and
their elevated expectation are serviced and benefited through technology
foundation like SMAC can be seen below:
• Social :Create better products and services through social knowledge exchange
Provide better customer service and improve productivity Build customer
advocacy at all touch points.
• Mobile: Establish continuous connections with more stakeholders Enable
deeper engagement by connecting with anyone ,anytime , anywhere Enable
easy transaction through ubiquitous mobile networks
8. • Analytics: Identify, create and enter new markets that were unidentified till now
Explore new business frontiers in existing markets.
• Cloud : Connect and interact with stakeholders Create innovative business
models that help customization and are based on services Faster deployment of
new technologies and services.
• I would prefer to work in the Banking , Healthcare , Manufacturing verticals of
the Industry.
• Healthcare : Companies can use it to improve the patient care in hospitals.
• Banking: Banks can leverage the technology for upselling and bringing new
products to market.
• Manufacturing: Manufacturing companies are using Big Data to improve their
products, predict the failures in their product lines ahead of time to make every
customer interaction very seamless and smooth.
