Science Combination Remarks

2 Pure Sciences • Most challenging

- Chemistry and Physics • Needs to score A1 in Science and
Math, and do well in EL, Humanities

Pure Science + Comb.Science • If interested in Biology

- Biology + Sc(Phy/Chem) • Involves 3 Science disciplines

Combined Science • Generally easier to score quality

- Science(Phy/Chem) grades

                              • Will be able to do one other subject,
                                namely, POA, D&T, F&N, Art

(involves checklist for assessing skills)
SCHOOL-BASED SCIENCE PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT

Candidates will be assessed in the following skill sets:

Skill Set 1 Performing and Observing
- perform an experiment using familiar apparatus, materials and
   techniques safely and methodically
- make relevant and accurate observations or measurements
- record results in an appropriate manner

Skill Set 2 Analysing
- process results,
- identify and comment on a key source of error
- draw conclusions consistent with obtained results

Skill Set 3 Planning
- analyse a practical problem and produce an appropriate
   procedure for the investigation
How to decide ?
1. Ability in Science
2. Interest in Science
3. Career choice
