3. Mutual Funds
Like ETF’s a basket of investments (usually stocks)
You invest $$$ not shares
Never know the price you are buying or selling at, just
get that day’s closing price because prices are set after
market closes

4. Exchange Traded Funds (ETF)
Trades on the stock exchange and the price of the
basket of investments rises and falls based on how its
components are doing
Can set limit prices and stop orders

5. Mutual Funds ETF’s
Reports holdings twice per Know exactly where money is
year invested and what price it is
Never know precisely what trading at every day
you are investing with Have commission like stocks
Some carry built in sales Expense charges are typically
charges (sales load) less than those of mutual
ALL funds carry expense funds

Traded on a listed exchange
Set stop orders and limits on them
Can get pretty specific in terms of buying a sector or a
small basket of companies
